LUMENI. The principles behind what we build.

We build our own systems and applications by examining the whole problem: what causes it, which solutions exist and what needs they leave unmet. This review informs our development principles and the architecture decisions behind what we build.

Review before adding

Disconnected platforms, duplicated tools and fragmented processes spread information across too many places, making the whole picture difficult to see. Each part may work on its own while decisions still come late because the context is missing.

We examine how those parts relate to understand what needs to change, what is worth keeping and what the system needs to solve.

We believe technology should leave you better off than it found you.

How we build our systems

  • Architecture

We organise components and their relationships so the system can be maintained, changed and developed further, with a structure that the people working on it can understand.

  • Privacy

We define the purpose that information serves within the system, guided by the principle that each client should retain control over their data and its use.

  • Security

Security informs the initial design and development work, and remains part of those decisions as the system changes and evolves.

  • Automation

We identify repetitive tasks the software can handle, while keeping decisions that require judgement with the people responsible for making them.

Quiet confidence

Trust requires precision about what exists: what a system does, what it can explain and where people take part. We distinguish available capabilities from work still in development so the way we present the system reflects its actual state.
